Nekrolog: Luanne Johnson, 77, of Minden died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Bethany Home in Minden. Luanne was born June 17, 1933, in Minden to Chester and Martha (Borgaard) Christensen. On Oct. 21, 1951, she married Roger Johnson. Survivors are: husband, Roger Johnson; son, Matt Johnson and his wife, Jan, of Hampton; daughters, Deb Olson and her husband, Phil, of Minden and Sarah Scott and her husband, Mike, of Lakin, Kan.; grandchildren, Scott Olson and his wife, Jennipher, Luke and Libby Johnson, Brett Johnson, and Jordan, Jadyn and Bradyn Scott; great-grandchildren, Landon and Ryley Olson; mother- in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Minden; brother, Norris Christensen of Minden; brothers-in-law, Gary Johnson and Larry Johnson; sisters-in-law, Pat Osborne and her husband, Keith, Barb Bartek and her husband, Don, and Marilyn Langemeier and her husband, Leon; and a host of relatives and friends. Luanne grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1951. After their marriage, she and Roger made their home in Holdrege for 13 years. In 1964, they moved to Minden. Luanne worked as a waitress in Holdrege and then at Pioneer Village Restaurant in Minden. Later, she managed the Shop-Ez Convenience Store in Minden. She retired in 1999. Luanne was a longstanding member of First Christian Church in Minden. She enjoyed being involved with the youth of the community and loved spending time with all her friends and family. Luanne was an avid sports fan, especially of Husker football. Luanne was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, J.W. Johnson; mother-in-law, Vera Johnson; sisters-in-law, Rita Johnson and Norma Christensen; and nephew, Jim Christensen. Published Kearney Hub 3/1/2011
Nekrolog efter mand: Roger Johnson, 82, of Minden died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Bethany Home in Minden. Roger was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Holdrege to Julius W. "J. W." and Vera V. (Moore) Johnson. On Oct. 21, 1951, he married Luanne Christensen. She preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Matt Johnson and his wife, Jan, of Hampton; daughters, Deb Olson and her husband, Phil, of Minden and Sarah Scott and her husband, Mike, of Burwell; grandchildren, Scott Olson and his wife, Jennipher, Luke and Libby Johnson, Brett Johnson, Jordan, Jadyn and Bradyn Scott and Robert LooksTwice; great-grandchildren, Landon, Ryley and Joslyn Olson; mother, Dorothy Johnson of Minden; brothers, Gary Johnson of Denver and Larry Johnson of Omaha; sisters, Patricia Osborne and her husband, Keith, of Littleton, Colo., Barbara Bartek and her husband, Don, of Wahoo and Marilyn Langemeier and her husband, Leon, of Billings, Mont.; brother-in-law, Norris Christensen of Minden; and many nieces and nephews. He grew up in the Bertrand-Holdrege area and graduated from Holdrege High School in 1948. He and Luanne made their home in Holdrege for 13 years. In 1964, they moved to Minden. Roger worked for Wolfe's IGA, had the Meadow Gold Milk route, managed Pioneer Village Restaurant and then worked for Baldwin Filters until he retired in 1999. Roger was a member of First Christian Church in Minden. He loved spending time with all his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Roger was an avid sports fan and looked forward to Husker football. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
