ROCKVILLE \emdash Wayne E. Thomsen, 80, of Rockville, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Martin Egging will officiate. Burial will be in the Souleville Cemetery near Boelus.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Per Wayne's wishes, the family requests casual dress.
Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Wayne Thomsen was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Sherman County to Niels and Lillian (Schmaljohn) Thomsen. He was raised in Sherman County and graduated from Rockville High School. He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Jean Huryta on July 27, 1968, in Ravenna. They lived near Poole until 1970 when they moved to Rockville.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Rockville; daughter, Audrey, and Brad Euans of Louisville; sons, DeWayne Thomsen of Ravenna and Roger and Sherri Thomsen of Amherst; four grandsons, Riley Thomsen, Douglas Euans, Tanner Thomsen and Tyler Euans; sister, Marian (Dutch) Dethlefs of Ravenna; brother, LaVern Thomsen, of Grand Island; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; brother, Kenneth; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Gary Wicht; mother-in-law and father-in-law Gertrude and Dale Huryta; and sister-in-law, Joyce Thomsen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
