GUNTHER - Dale E. Gunther, 31, Dixon, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 8, 1989 in Dixon Correctional Center. Born March 29, 1958 in Rockford, son of Gilbert and Cleo (Anderson) Gunther. Lived seven years in Dixon, coming from Pecatonica. Formerly married Iris Zimmerman in Pecatonica, June 4, 1977. Member of St. John Lutheran Church. Graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1976.
Survivors include his parents, Pecatonica; two brothers, Richard, Davis and Robert, Ridgeway, Wis.; three sisters, Carol (Harold) Hitchcock, Ridott; Jean Boomer, Pecatonica, and Patricia (Thomas) Gipe, Pecatonica; two daughters, Jennifer and Tania, Bradenton, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Helena Anderson, Wauwatosa, Wis.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in St. John Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, with the Rev. Terry L. Theiss, pastor, officiating. Burial in 12-Mile Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Kenneth L. Countryman Funeral Home, Pecatonica. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. to service Monday. Memorials to St. John Lutheran Church, Pecatonica.
Note: This man was convicted of the murder of Lloyd and Anna Schrader, and ultimately committed suicide while incarcerated.
