Nekrolog:
Leona Luella Bydalek, of Grand Island died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Leona was born Nov. 30, 1924, at Loup City to George and Alma (Thompson) Heil.
She married Ernest "Ernie" Bydalek on June 2, 1942, at Loup City.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Ernie Bydalek of Grand Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Deb Bydalek of Hastings; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Chris and Doug Obermiller of Loup City, Deb and Ken Bonczynski of Kearney and Cindy McCarville of Marquette and her special friend, Dan Emery; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Arlie and Richard Jasnoch of Grand Island and Norma Classen of Hastings; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Heil of Loup City.
Leona grew up in Loup City graduating from Loup City High School in 1942. She completed her degree at Kearney State Teachers College. She began teaching at Dist. 6 in Sherman County, later teaching in rural Howard County.
Ernie and Leona lived in Grand Island for several years before returning to Sherman County to farm.
Mr. Bydalek retired in 1981 and the couple moved back to Grand Island.
Leona enjoyed her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid quilter, quilting quilts for each of her family members. She loved flower gardening, especially roses, she also enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Cathedral Ladies, St. Mary's Quilting Ladies, and Servants of the Father's Love Community.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Loren Heil and brother-in-law, Gerry Classen.

Nekrolog efter manden:
Ernest R. Bydalek, 92, of Grand Island, NE, died Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Scott M. Harter will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Curran Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
Ernie was born, March 21, 1926, at Ashton, NE. He was the son of Sylvester and Agnes (Maciejewski) Bydalek.
Survivors of his immediate family include his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Deb Bydalek of Hastings, NE
Three daughters and two sons-in-law, Chris and Doug Obermiller of Loup City, NE
Deb and Ken Bonczynski of Kearney, NE
Cindy McCarville of Grand Island, NE and Dan Emery
10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren
Ernie grew up south of Ashton, NE where he attended country school. He married Leona Heil on June 2, 1942, in Loup City, NE. They lived in Grand Island for several years before returning to Sherman County to farm. Mr. Bydalek retired in 1981 and the couple moved back to Grand Island. Leona die March 30, 2010.
Ernie enjoyed wood working, fishing, and playing cards.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Leona, and an infant brother Arnold.
