Johanna K. Thomas, 96, formerly of Rockville, died April 26, 2008 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services were Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the united Church of Christ in Rockville with Rev. Darrell Holzinger officiating.
Burial was in Souleville Cemetry.
Visttation was from 6 to pm Monday at Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravena.
Music was provided by LaVera Mae Franssen and Gene Nitsch.
Johanna Katherine Thomas was born on May 19, 1911 to Thomas and Anna (Steffensen) Thomsen on the farm near Rockville.
She attended Rockville Public School graduating 1931. She attended Kearney Norman Training and taught school in Hall and Sherman Counties.
She maried Henry W. Thomas in Loup City on may 29, 1940. They made their home on a farm east of Rockville.
Thomas moved to Aurora in January of 2007 because of declining health.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Rockville, Ladies Aid, Jolly Time Card Club and Royal Neighbors of America. She and her husband were 4-H leaders in Sherman County for 20 years.
She loved baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Henry of Rockville; a son Robert (Bob) of Rockville and a daughter Margalee Thomas of Henderson; two sisters-in-law, Virgie Erntsmeyer, of Wood River and Sarah Myers of Cairo.
She was preceeded in death by two infant brothers, a brother, Niels; two sisters, Hilda and Mable, and one infant son.

Henry Thomas, 93, of Wood River formerly of Rockville died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Good Samaritan Home in Wood River.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Congregational Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Darrell Holzinger will officiate.
Burial will be in the Souleville Cemetery near Rockville.
Henry William Thomas was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Cairo to Robert F. and Olga (Luhn)Thomas.
Survivors include a son, Robert "Bob" Thomas of Ravenna; a daughter, Margalee Thomas of Henderson; and one sister, Virgie Erntsmeyer of Wood River.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johanna, and an infant son.
Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
He attended school in Cairo.
He married Johanna K. Thomsen on May 29, 1940, in Loup City.
They farmed in the Cairo and Loup City area before moving in 1942 to Johanna's parents' farmstead one mile east of Rockville. They farmed and lived there until their retirement.
Johanna passed away in April of 2008.
Shortly after her death, Henry's health declined and he moved to the Good Samaritan Home in Wood River.
Henry was a member of the Rockville Evangelical Reformed Church and later the United Church of Christ in Rockville.
He and Johanna were 4-H leaders in Sherman County for 20 years. The last 4-H Club they led was the Blue Ribbon Rovers of Rockville.
Henry loved farming, raising both cattle and hogs, fishing and enjoying time with family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sara Myers; a brother-in-law, Neils Thomsen; and sisters-in-law, Mabel and Hilda Thomsen.
