Pearl Beatrice Belluzzi, 98, of DeKalb, Illinois, formerly of Des Plaines, died Monday, January 19, 2015, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, DeKalb.

Born January 4, 1917, in Chicago, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Olsen) Thunboe, Pearl married Salvatore D. Belluzzi on October 12, 1940, in Chicago.

Pearl worked as a secretary for the City of Des Plaines, and also helped her husband at his IGA grocery store in Chicago. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and crocheting. After moving to DeKalb, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and attended DeKalb Community Center.

She is survived by her children, James (Diana) Belluzzi of Irvine, California, and Joyanne Belluzzi (Alan Demmerle) of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Jerry (Peggy) Belluzzi of DeKalb; grandchildren, Lisa, Michele, Justin, David, Scott and Michael; great-grandchild, Will; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

The funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb. Cremation will follow at Anderson Funeral Home Crematory, with burial of cremated remains on a later date at Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pearl B. Belluzzi Memorial Fund, sent to the Belluzzi Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
