MAXWELL - Chris L. Nelsen, 53, of York died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, near Maxwell.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in York with Mary Scott officiating. Private family inurnment will be later. The body was cremated. Metz Mortuary in York is in charge of
the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 17, 1959, at McCook to Robert "LeRoy" and Velma (Ramels) Nelsen.
In December 1979, he married Judy Jurgens at Curtis.
On Nov. 28, 1998, he married Denise (Reese) Shirley at North Platte.
Survivors include his wife; son, Daniel Nelsen of Moorefield; twin daughters, Erica Bartlett and her husband, Brett, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Joslyn Nelsen of Curtis; son, Brian Reese and his wife, Chelsea, of Hickman; daughter, Jenny Snook and her husband, James, of Lincoln; son, Tyler Reese of Lincoln; brother, Don Nelsen and Johnna Rutenber of Krum, Texas; sisters, Charlene Johnson and her husband, Gaylord, and Janice Nelsen, all of Hastings, Emily Hayek and her husband, Lumir, of Ord and Lori Tobiasson and her husband, Tom, of North Platte; grandchildren, MacKenzie Nelsen and Bentley Campbell, both of Curtis, Jacoby Snook of Lincoln, Batie Reese of Hickman and Brecken Bartlett of North Carolina; in-laws, Vernon "Sonny" and Eileen Shirley of North Platte; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He graduated in 1978 from Curtis-Medicine Valley High School. Chris was a longtime sales manager at Scott-Hourigan Co. in York.
Chris loved golfing, attending farm shows and traveling for work. He also enjoyed his toy tractor collection and his two best buddies, Jazzy and Lizzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
