Alva Amundson Landon, 89, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died on March 25, 2007 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston, Minnesota.
Alva Geraldine Amble was born on July 7, 1917 in St. Hilaire, Minnesota, the daughter of James Arthur and Otta (Skeie) Amble. Alva moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, with her parents in 1919. She attended school in Grand Forks, North Dakota, graduating in 1935 from Central High School. On June 26, 1938 she was united in marriage to Walter Stauning. They then moved to Portland, Oregon where Walter passed away in 1945. Alva returned to Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1947 and married Arthur M. Amundson. She worked at the Grand Forks Credit Bureau for several years. They moved to East Grand Forks, in 1950 where she continued to work for the Grand Forks Credit Bureau. Arthur Amundson passed away in February of 1981. She married Jack D. Landon on January 21, 1984 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Alva had been an active member of First Lutheran Church, The Heritage Foundation and the Senior Center of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She worked in the office of Jerry Driscoll for more than 18 Years.
Alva is preceded in death by her parents, son; Gary, sister; Anita Grina, brothers; Raymond, James and Stanton (Bud) Amble.
