Lynda Lorraine Rains died peacefully on December 15, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 18 at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale. A visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Lynda was born on August 15, 1948 to Alvin and Arlene Madsen. She graduated from Urbandale High School in 1966. She was married for eleven years to Paul Rains and from this union she had two daughters. Lynda worked in computer support for over 25 years. She was also a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Johnston. Lynda's great joy in life was spending time with her 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Anna, Logan, Ryan and Ashley.
Lynda is survived by her mother, Arlene Madsen of Dallas Center; sister, Carolyn (Alan) Madsen of Denver, CO; brother, Dean (Deb) Madsen of Grimes; daughters, Sarah (Jeffrey) Burch of Carl Junction, MO, and Heather (Jeff) Halverson of Granger; six nephews, and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Madsen, and her brother, Mark Madsen.
Lynda blev gift med Paul Rains.
