Her early years were spent in Provo, coping with all the challenges associated with the troubling economic times, in a large family with limited resources. Through it all, she became a determined, hard-working and tough-minded optimist; traits that have served her well. As a young woman, she attended Dixon Junior High School and later, Provo High School, graduating in 1941. Life's Work/Service/Interests: Shortly thereafter, she married Clifford John Carter and relocated to Los Angeles, California, where her son, Stephen, was born. As her husband was involved in the war effort, and later with the United States Navy, she returned to Provo where she lived the remainder of her life. Years later, she married Edwin "Chick" Wilde and they enjoyed nearly 20 years together before his passing in 1982. For much of her adult life, Donna was employed by First Security Bank where she progressed from "proof" operator, to teller, to mortgage loan officer. There she continued to learn and enjoyed the association of many friends and business acquaintances. Following her retirement, and still feeling a need to make a contribution, she began volunteer service at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Although slowed by age, she continued to serve and accumulated over 10,000 hours of volunteer service at the hospital.
